131586 - Private Dance Instruction

Class Attire:
Leotard and tights (any color), Preschool: pink leather ballet shoes, and black tap shoes with elastic sewn in holes. Please no skirts or tutus on any dancers. All school age dancers will need beige "Super Jazz Shoes" by Bloch, and lace up black tap shoes.

Tuition: All tuition is due on the 1st of the month. All tuition is Non-Refundable. Add any second class for only $30 monthly! $5 discount for the second child in the family. All tuition is payable in advance of the first lesson of the month. There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee the first month only.

All registration fees, recital fees and costumes must be payable to Dance Arts Center.
Tuition is payable to the City of McKinney.
Private Dance Instructions will need to be set up through Joan Martin or Lou Ann Martin-Vance.
Private Instruction is $75 per month. Semi Private instruction is $65 per month.
Private and Semi Private Instruction is available Tuesdays, Thursdays and/or Saturdays.

Join our Parks and Recreation staff at Erwin Park to explore the outdoor trail underneath the McKinney night sky. We will search for nocturnal critters through sights and sounds. Make sure to bring your flashlights! This hike is almost 2 miles through some difficult terrain, plan accordingly.

Professional actors and actresses teach theater arts basics while focusing on a creative process that promotes oral communication, creativity, literacy, critical thinking and movement. Artistic instructors will facilitate the students’ creation of an original performance. Students may only register for one camp during the summer and will receive a Junior Players T-shirt and certificate of accomplishment.

This class teaches the fundamentals of floating, breath control, and swimming on the front and back, along with proper water entries and exits.

301121 - Swim 102-Spring 2022

This class builds students' independence in swimming backstroke and front crawl while emphasizing basic rotary breathing.

301131 - Swim 103-Spring 2022

This class is for students who can swim 15 yards of backstroke and front crawl with basic rotary breathing. In Swim 103 students improve rotary breathing, build endurance, and learn elementary backstroke.

301141 - Swim 104-Spring 2022

This class is for students who can swim 25 yards of backstroke and front crawl. In Swim 104 students increase endurance, refine stroke technique, and receive an introduction to breaststroke and basic turns.

301151 - Swim 105-Spring 2022

This class is for students who can swim backstroke, front crawl, and breaststroke a minimum of 50 yards. In Swim 105 students build endurance, increase stroke proficiency, and learn butterfly and flip turns.

301170 - Jr Lifeguarding-Spring 2022

This is NOT a certification course. Students will NOT receive any form of Red Cross certification from completing this course. Junior Lifeguarding teaches elements of a lifeguarding certification, including water entries, basic first aid, and an introduction to CPR. Participants will also continue stroke refinement, developing speed and increasing endurance through strength, distance, and drill training.

This class is designed for children ages 10-15. Students entering this course must be able to swim 50 yards front crawl, 50 yards back crawl, and 25 yards breaststroke. Students will be tested on the first day of the class.

301171 - Adapted Aquatics-Spring 2022

Learn skills for swimming, water safety, and interacting with peers through adapted and individualized teaching methods designed for individuals with varying abilities and needs. There is an emphasis on communication between parent and instructor in order to make the most of each lesson.
