PE is a 90 minute class that allows students to explore many sports in a short time. This program is designed so that students can be ACTIVE and learn about athletics and team sports. Each class begins with a d dynamic warm-up and stretch. We rotate through agility stations and drills. Each unit of study includes sport specific drills and games. Including rules of the game, strategy and the fundamentals required to play. We also enjoy fun classic games like kickball, dodgeball, whiffleball and capture the flag. Sibling discounts available.

Looking to pick up a new hobby, maybe even learn an Ollie? Than look no further than the new skateboarding program at the Rec Center at Towne Lake; Beginner Skateboarding! This class is made for anyone with an interest in the sport. Here participants can learn all of the basics of skateboarding. All you need is a skateboard and a helmet.

This event is designed to provide recreational and social opportunities for individuals with special needs, their families and caregivers while exposing participants to new experiences, enhance self-esteem, and self-confidence. Join us for light refreshments, music and dancing!

Have you been playing with the same person for years? New to the area or without a regular partner? Then this is the league for you! Sign up now to play and test your skill and growth against similarly skilled players. A league shirt and court times are included in the cost. Join our Parks and Recreation staff at Erwin Park to explore the outdoor trail underneath the McKinney night sky. We will search for nocturnal critters through sights and sounds. Make sure to bring your flashlights! This hike is almost 2 miles through some difficult terrain, plan accordingly.

Join the Community Center staff on a guided nature hike. (10 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult)
